Helen Reis’ Lunch + Learn presentations aim to educate participants about their structural anatomy in order to improve body awareness when working at home or in the office. Specific parameters around equipment placement, and possible modification is covered in order to best support an optimal body position. Movement strategies/exercises are described, demonstrated, and emphasized as key factors for mitigation of repetitive strain injuries associated with desk work. Pros and cons of sitting/standing at the workstation are discussed. Emphasis is placed on the employee being empowered to take care of their health (as opposed to relying on specific equipment). These sessions are highly interactive; participant engagement and/or direct questions are very much encouraged and as such, each presentation is specific to the audience.
