Community Engagement Research Assistant Mickey L. D. Morgan will facilitate this space, the second event of Mapping East Van, an ongoing community project of both the Digital + Creative knowledge Sharing series and Shumka x Satellite Activism Residency. Mapping East Van also includes the Mapping East Van podcast, a collaborative ‘zine/poster series, and developing mutual aid initiatives. All of these are focused on developing solidarity with our neighbours. This project utilizes many research-creation methodologies inspired by Dr. Dorit Naaman’s presentation in the series, “Data and archiving in the face of state erasure: a case for Research-Creation methods”.

This event will focus on stolen and occupied Land and Water stewarded by and in ongoing displacement of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm nations.

This event will introduced by Dr. Cissie Fu.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

Plan to also to attend the next presentation in the Digital + Creative Knowledge Sharing Series: March 3, 11:30am – 12:30pm – T.L. Cowan & Jas Rault, “Feminist Emergency & Emergent Methods & Actions on Data (FEEMAD)"
