Printmaking Workshop: Secrets of Colour from the Production Studio

This workshop will share some of the ideas on how to approach colour for printing your editions, as well as successful tips on layering your matrices. How to mix and match colour successfully, how to choose between opaque or translucent ink, which modifiers to use for successful printing, and how each of these choices influence each other when layered. With primary focus on intaglio printing from a production point of view, students will get a chance to see how layering colour, even varying black inks, can produce different results. Current projects made in collaboration with William Kentridge will be showcased.
