During this hour long information session we'll be giving a brief presentation about research data management (RDM), the Tri-Agency RDM policy that was launched in May 2021, and the work that we are currently undertaking to create an institutional RDM strategy. The session will leave lots of time for questions and conversation about research data management practices, and how you imagine ECU can best support you and your research

Further Context – Why are we doing this session?

The Library and Research Office are collecting information about how research data is collected, created, and stored by researchers at ECU. Research data is generated through many types of research activities, including creative practices and the creation of artworks, media and design projects, and scholarly inquiry.

Your participation will help inform the development of the Institutional Research Data Management Strategy. This strategy is not a policy or a directive document, rather it is a roadmap for how ECU will develop institutional supports for research data management over the next several years. This information will also be used to help support researchers at ECU with RDM requirements that may arise for future Tri-Agency grants.

The Tri-Agencies (SSHRC, NSERC, CIHR) require all postsecondary institutions and research hospitals to complete and publicly post an Institutional RDM Strategy by March 1, 2023, in order to continue qualifying for research funding.

Please email hillarywebb@ecuad.ca if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you for participating!
