Pepper's Ghost New Media & Performing Arts Collective presents Re:Verb

Inspired by the poem, Stealing Flowers by Julie Peters, and brought to life with dancer Alejandra Caballero, the choreography by Olivia C. Davies seeks to express the nuances of love and loss with an affirmation of hope. A parallel story unfolds in a virtual environment reflecting the poetic words and the dancers’ movements. Using motion capture, speech analysis, and game engine technologies, a performance emerges as two interacting realities.

Pepper's Ghost New Media & Performing Arts Collective was founded in Vancouver, British Columbia in the spring of 2014 by veterans of the theatre, film, and video game industries, along with leading academic researchers in new media, to explore the expressive potential of modern computer graphics and visual & audio effects technologies, including real-time motion capture, stereo 3D projection, electronic sound synthesis and virtual & augmented reality, in the creation of live theatre, music and dance performances.
