November 19th: The Wizard of Oz (1939)
Why watch Wicked: For Good (2025) when you can come see the consummate Hollywood adaptation of the world of Oz for free? Ultra-saturated and ultra-kitschy, with extensive hand-built sets, ornate matte paintings, and clever uses of optical printing and rear projection, this film created a visual spectacle that helped sell American audiences on the magic of live-action Technicolor.
