Communication Design and Interaction Deign | Style and subversion in the mixed reality spectrum
What happens to the physical and political body in the context of play? This is the question third year Communication and Interaction Design Majors asked through a series of collaborations over the semester. Using this question as a guide, students engaged in and celebrated positive social change by working with topics and organizations like the Vancouver Street Soccer League (VSSL).
Students designed digital experiences as social artefacts, going beyond the screen into a political and social playground. They created for embodiment, for social interaction, and for provocation. This is a collaboration with insight exchanges: between game and sports design, between prime and augmented reality, between the visual and the transparent, and between criticality and social change.
