Stéphanie Clement is an illustrator and director of animated films. She graduated from Supinfocom Arles (France) in 2012 where, as part of her studies, she co-directed Cependant les instants étaient précieux and Le secret d'Eve, two short films broadcast on the Canal+’s Mensomadaire program. After the very short film Anonyme, made in her third year, she returned to the theme of coercive control for her graduation movie Dans l'Ombre, a free rewrite of the Bluebeard tale (acquired by Canal+ and selected at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival). In 2013, her transmedia project on intra-family violence, La petite vampire aux crocs de verre, was selected for the Destins Animés workshop at the Valence International Screenwriters Festival and for the Saint-Quirin writing residency De l'écriture à l'image. In 2021, she finished directing and art directing Pachyderme, an animated short film about repressed memory, produced by TNZPV Productions and Folimage, supported by Arte, which earned her a nomination for the 2024 Oscars. She is currently working on her first graphic novel and the development of her first animated feature film.
