In response to current threats to the planet and to democratic rights, Emily Carr University is hosting an evening with 5 speakers and dialogue with the audience.
Amy George, also known as Ta ah, has inspired her Nation to stand united against Kinder Morgan with her words, "Warrior Up". She is the daughter of Chief Dan George, mother of Reuben George and grandmother to Cedar George-Parker.
Hereditary Chief Phil Lane Jr. has served to protect and restore the Human Family and Mother Earth for 50 years by healing root causes of hopelessness and despair. He gives his heartelt thanksgiving to Prime Minister Trudeau and President Trump whose behaviors have awakened a global spiritual giant.
Reuben George has served his Nation as the Director of Community Development. He is focused on protecting the Burrard Inlet, traditional territory of the Tsleil-Waututh, from the Kinder Morgan Pipeline and tanker project.
Cedar George-Parker follows in the footsteps of his family in his work with the Four World International Institute where he is involved in youth engagement and global climate change.
Alan Clements integrates his classical Buddhist training as a monk with political awareness that includes global human rights, environmental sanity, democracy and the preciousness of everyday life. He is an author, activist and teacher.
