The focus of this show is on the inclusion of functional, domestic ceramics within a gallery space and exploring the intersection of that functionality with aestheticized form. Ceramics, especially functional ceramics, are often relegated to the back burner of larger artistic discourse. However, this show presents the challenge of reconciling functionality with form and evaluating each as equals.
