After more than two years of work and consultation, the ECU Climate Action Task Force is excited to share the draft Sustainability + Climate Action Plan with the Emily Carr community.

The plan includes a wide range of actions to address the climate crisis, as well as broad environmental and social injustice.

The community townhall events are opportunities to share the context and content of the plan with the community, as well as a time for community members to provide feedback.

The Climate Action Task Force (CATF) was formed by the President as a response to discussions with the University Senate and to student climate activism. The goal was to formulate new strategies, policies and practices to support a university-wide commitment to address the climate crisis. The task force is made of faculty, students and staff representating all areas of the university.

The Townhalls will include a brief presentation from the co-chairs of the CATF and a Q&A period. Food will be provided in person. An online meeting link will allow participants to ask text questions.
