The Sustainable Production Forum is two days of connecting with industry professionals, learning about sustainable production practices, collaborating on solutions and finding new pathways to make a difference on set and in the motion picture industry.
It is a one of a kind event that explores sustainable production solutions at all levels, and features stakeholders from around the world.
The SPF focuses on the pressing issue of sustainability within the motion picture and entertainment industry. Evidence has shown that this industry is a massive contributor to our global environmental footprint and that motion picture and entertainment cannot continue business as usual. The SPF was imagined as a pathway to discuss and highlight the issues and create open dialogue to define solutions that work towards a vision for a sustainable industry.
This year's themes and topics include:
- Collective Action
- Climate Emergency
- Producing for the Planet
- Actions that Reduce Cost
- Diversity Drives Sustainability
The 2019 program will feature a mix of focused workshops, panels, and notable keynote speakers to offer dynamic programming for all industry members. The climate action focused city of Vancouver serves as the backdrop for creative thinking on advancing motion picture into a sustainable future.
SPF also has a newsletter with all these details and more. Sign up here to receive information as it's available.
Additionally, the 2019 SPF has partnered with Tree Canada so that for every SPF ticket sold at least 1 tree will be planted in BC in areas affected by wildfire or other environmental disasters.
