FALL SHOW - STUDENT EXHIBITIONS
THE WEIGHT OF BECOMING
"The Weight of Becoming" foregrounds perception, presence, and the subtle ways environments and objects reveal themselves. The exhibition encourages active engagement, drawing attention to overlooked gestures, textures, and traces that embody memory and belonging.
Through the interplay of light, sound, and material, the spaces transform as viewers move through it, collapsing boundaries between natural and constructed worlds. Embedded in these encounters are generational, cultural, and ecological echoes, inviting reflection on what is seen, unseen, remembered, and imagined.
This collective exhibition from ECU students asks visitors to reconsider how visibility (of self, others, and environment) is both fragile and generative.
The show runs from Oct 20-27 at Emily Carr University.
