Unit 17 is pleased to present The Pigeon Looks for Death in the Space Between the Needle and the Haystack, the first solo exhibition by multi media artist and writer Tiziana La Melia (2008) at the gallery. These new and recent works come out of the exhibition ‘Garden Gossip’ at the Walter Phillips Gallery (Banff, Canada; 29 September - 22 December 2017). Unit 17 Gallery is open Thursdays through Sundays from noon to 5 PM.

About Tiziana La Melia:

Tiziana La Melia (b.1982, Palermo, Italy) received her MFA at the University of Guelph and her BFA at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, Vancouver, Canada. La Melia was the national winner of the 2014 RBC painting competition. She has exhibited at Magasin 3, Stockholm, Sweden; Galerie Anne Baurrault, Paris, France; Damien & the Love Guru, Brussels, Belgium; François Ghebaly Gallery, Los Angeles, USA; CSA Projects, The Apartment, Western Front, Unit 17, Vancouver Art Gallery, Vancouver; Division Gallery, Montreal; Mercer Union, COOPER COLE, Toronto, Canada. La Melia currently lives and works in Vancouver, Canada.
