Emily Carr's Students' Union invests $315,000 in the University's new campus at Great Northern Way.

Emily Carr University of Art + Design is pleased to announce the $315,000 investment made today by the Emily Carr Students' Union (ECSU) to the University's new campus at Great Northern Way.

ECSU's significant support is made possible by Students' Union funds designated specifically for capital projects. The pledge demonstrates ECSU's continued leadership role in shaping the student experience at Emily Carr University.

"We are excited to make this investment to support fellow and future students at the new campus,” said Gloria Han, Chairperson, Emily Carr Students' Union. “This is the perfect opportunity for ECSU to play an integral role in defining and enhancing Emily Carr University's new campus."

With this announcement, ECSU takes their pledge one step further and challenges the Emily Carr Alumni Association to collectively meet or beat the $315,000 investment by fall of 2017, when the University will officially open new campus doors to students on Great Northern Way.

“The Emily Carr Alumni Association is thrilled to accept this challenge. We call on all alumni to celebrate our past and contribute to the new campus," said Dave Humphrey, President, Emily Carr Alumni Association Board. "Alumni support of the new campus connects us to each other and celebrates the creative community that converges at Emily Carr University.”

This weekend the public is invited to be inspired at the 42nd annual Emily Carr Student Art Sale on Granville Island. One of the University’s largest public events, the sale attracts thousands of holiday shoppers who purchase original works made by Emily Carr's current class of talented and emerging artists and designers.

The Emily Carr Student Art Sale is open to the public:
Friday, November 27 | noon to 8pm
Saturday, November 28 | noon to 5pm
Sunday, November 29 | noon to 5pm
