The Rookies is an International Awards Program that recognizes young designers, creators, innovators, and artists.

2016 Industrial Design graduate Eilish McVey has been recognized by The Rookies for her industrial design project, Moving Medicine, a portable diagnostic incubator that is used to facilitate a LAMP test. The incubator can be carried into low-resource areas and used for diagnosing and treating pneumonia in children.

The Rookies, an International Awards for young designers, creators, innovators, and artists received over 1,800 entries from higher education school students located in 77 countries worldwide. The Awards were created to discover and showcase the outstanding talent emerging from higher education facilities and help launch them into careers at the world’s top studios.

Winners are selected by a panel and based on the following criteria: Overall Impression, Creative Skills, Technical Skills, Range of Skills, Complexity, Presentation, and Industry Employability.

Congratulations Eilish!
