Emily Carr Signs Partnership Agreement with Tinkerine Studios

The collaboration will provide valuable information for the implementation of 3D printing courses and products in the education space.
We're pleased to announce that
we have signed an industry and institutional research partnership agreement with Tinkerine Studios Ltd., designers and manufacturers of award-winning 3D printers and software.
The partnership will see ECU's Material Matters research hub undertake design research related to personal production machinery, software and services for educational organizations and the creative individual.

Emily Carr is a world recognized leader in education and design, and our collaboration will advance our mandate to become a global leader in 3D printing for the education sector."
The partnership, which will run through March 2018, is part of an Engage Grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC). With the Engage Grant, university or college researchers can apply to launch a new research
collaboration with an industrial partner through a short-term research
and development (R&D) project that applies their expertise to
address a company challenge. Partnering companies gain by having the
expertise of the academics focused on their R&D issues and by
discovering what the researchers and the students working with them have
to offer.
The collaboration will provide valuable information for the implementation of 3D printing courses and products in the education space.
