YVR Art Foundation Award Recipient Veronica Waechter Works Now on View

2017 YVRAF Youth Art Scholarship recipient Veronica Waechter, Gitxsan Nation (BFA 2018) unveiled her latest work at the 2018 Awards Gala held at the Vancouver International Airport on May 25, 2018.

The YVRAF art scholarships are awarded annually to artists of British Columbia and Yukon Indigenous ancestry in two categories: Youth (26 and under) and Mid-Career (27 and over). Recipients receive a $5K scholarship to attend a formal art institution or study with an artist-mentor over the course of one year. Mid-Career recipients work with an Master artist, attend an art institution or undertake a special project that is of cultural significance to their community. At the end of the scholarship year, recipients are invited back to Vancouver to display their creations at the awards event, followed by an exhibition of their work at YVR for a one-year period.
