The Emily Carr University Alumni Association is pleased to introduce The Leeway, a social and professional networking platform that connects alumni, students, staff and faculty together.

At the beginning of the year, we set out to find the perfect place for students to connect with alumni in their fields, to connect alumni back to the university, and ultimately a place to collaborate, network, and lift up one another.

We're happy to announce that it is finally here and ready for you to join!

Fully supported by RBC, The Leeway is a social and professional networking site where you can interact with members of the platform through mentorship, connection and collaboration. It expands beyond that and gives you a home where you can invite the community to experience your exhibitions, share your portfolio, engage in casual critique and feedback groups, or just share your creative journey, news, and successes.

We chose this platform because it gives more freedom to you as the user.

If you’re in the position to mentor others, you can set when and how many people you're able to mentor or collaborate with. If you’re looking for a mentor, you're in control of connecting with those in your own field – or outside of it, if you’re looking to learn something new.

Everyone can search the community through specialties, disciplines, career choices, locations, and so much more. If you're feeling shy, the platform will show you potential matches based on your own profile – this means the more complete your profile is, the better your suggestions will be.

As the community grows, we look forward to your feedback. We can't wait to have you on board to mould The Leeway into the best possible platform for the extended Emily Carr University community.

What are you waiting for? Join today and introduce yourself!
