In May 2025, five long-serving Emily Carr University of Art + Design (ECU) community members were honoured in a brief ceremony on the occasion of their retirement.
Faculty members Cameron Cartiere, Lorelei Pepi and Ben Reeves, and staff members Gaye Fowler and Amy Kheong were recognized for their exceptional commitment and extraordinary contributions to the university community.
The ceremony took place during the annual Emily Thanks You event, an initiative of ECU’s Human Resources department acknowledging the dedication of staff and faculty members.
Justin Langlois, ECU’s Associate Vice President of Research + Dean of Graduate Studies, and Trish Kelly, ECU’s President + Vice-Chancellor, provided brief introductions as well as messages of gratitude on behalf of the university.
The honourees each received an orchid and were warmly celebrated by their colleagues, having each devoted so much of their professional excellence and enduring humanity to the community’s shared purpose and interpersonal well-being.
