Dear ECU Community,

As you may be aware, the BC government has announced the lifting of additional public health orders in response to the encouraging decrease of COVID-19 case numbers and hospitalization rates.

As of Friday, March 11, masks will be optional in indoor public settings throughout the province. The government will also be phasing out vaccine passports by April 8.

At this time, we encourage you to continue wearing masks while on the Emily Carr campus. It’s important that we continue to respect one another throughout this transition, and show compassion to those who have different levels of comfort and risk. We will share further information with you next week.

Lastly, I want to recognize the strength and resilience you have shown throughout these changes to the learning environment. Thank you for the many ways you have found to support one another throughout this pandemic.

Sincerely,

Gillian Siddall
