Celebrating the pursuit of art, media and design education, Future Artists/Future Designers is a youth summit and open house event where you can meet leading creative innovators, visit Emily Carr’s studios and labs, talk to current students, develop your portfolio, and find out more about programs and admissions to Emily Carr.
There are two ways to get involved:
YOUTH SUMMIT
If art and design is your passion, join us for Future Artists/Future Designers Youth Summit. During the Summit you’ll hear from creative innovators about how they got started; you’ll collaborate on a group design challenge; and hear about the art and design school experience from undergraduate and graduate student mentors.
9:00 am – 12:00 pm
For youth ages 15 – 25
$30 (includes supplies and lunch)
Get 5 or more friends together for the group rate and pay only $20 each

OPEN HOUSE & INFO FAIR
Thinking about applying to Emily Carr University? The Open House and Info Fair is a great opportunity for prospective students, parents and guidance counselors to learn more about the art and design school experience. Meet current students and alumni; get advice on how to build a successful portfolio; take guided tours of the school’s high tech labs, studios and galleries; and talk to faculty and admissions staff.

What goes into a successful portfolio? Find out how to submit and document your work, see examples of great student portfolios, and learn how to get ready for National Portfolio Day on Emily Carr campus.
3:00 – 4:00 GRADUATE STUDIES PANEL
Learn more about Emily Carr's robust and innovative Graduate Studies Program, delivered through Residency and Low Residency programs. The panel will discuss the Master of Applied Arts Residency and Low Residency programs and also highlight the new Master of Design, a two-year, full-time, research-oriented, interdisciplinary degree for creative professionals at the forefront of design.
Please note -- the Graduate Studies panel will be live-streamed.
AT THE INFO FAIR (OPEN ALL AFTERNOON)
CAMPUS TOURS
Departing every half hour, from 2:00 pm onward – take a look at all the amazing studios and technology Emily Carr University has to offer its students, from high tech labs to exciting exhibition spaces, active studios to film and animation suites.
