The Burnaby Art Gallery presents Robert Young: Quotidian View - a tightly focused exhibition which centres on the drawings, watercolours and prints of Vancouver based artist Robert Young (66) created between 1982 and 2009. As an artist who has been engaging audiences for nearly four decades, Young has created a body of work that has garnered critical attention and praise from artists, curators and critics from across North America and Europe. His work has a strong intellectual appeal and an impeccable sense of craft. For more than 45 years he has pursued a bold personal image synthesizing the environment with his strong philosophical and spiritual beliefs.

Burnaby Art Gallery Director/Curator Darrin Martens explains, "The genesis of Robert Young: Quotidian View began when I realized there had not been a dedicated exhibition of Young's prints since Ian Thom's show at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria in 1980 titled Robert Young Prints/Gravures. As an art museum dedicated to collecting and interpreting Canadian works of art on paper and print culture, the Burnaby Art Gallery sought Young out to create a challenging, critically engaging and meaningful exhibition that reflected his contribution to Canadian art."
