Designing for Disaster Exhibition

Members of the public are invited to Designing for Disaster, an exhibition of five relief housing projects by Emily Carr Institute and University of British Columbia students.

In partnership with Forintek's western lab, a group of students from Emily Carr Institute and UBC created five different 400 square foot prefabricated shelter projects for emergency use in different climates and for specific cultural needs. These living units cost under $5,000, utilize contemporary fabrication processes, technologies and materials, and have the capacity to be assembled and disassembled with basic tools.
