Paul Scott Exhibition

Emily Carr Institute and the Gallery of BC Ceramics are co-sponsors for world-renowned ceramist, author and educator Paul Scott's first solo exhibition in Canada. The exhibit will feature ceramic works made during Scott's guest teaching appointment at ECI.

Paul Scott resides in Cumbria, in rural northern England. He is currently a PhD fellow at Manchester Institute for Research and Innovation in Art and Design, Manchester Metropolitan University, England, and the author of two books, Ceramics and Print (A&C Black, 1994/96) and Painted Clay: Graphic Arts and the Ceramic Surface (A&C Black and Watson Guptill, 2000). He has exhibited internationally and has work in collections in Britain, Scandinavia, Europe, Australia, Korea, South Africa and the US. His work involves the digital manipulation of patterns, images and vignettes deriving from traditional blue and white ceramic wares, resulting in individual pieces that are exacting and critical.
