My Neighbourhood for BC Children's Hospital

My Neighbourhood was a group project between Shannon Hofer, Chiara Salini, Heather Neale, and Anastasia Djikia in collaboration with the BC Children's Hospital. In our briefing we were told that the hospital wanted a resource for parents gain trust in, with the hope that they could reduce the amount of unnecessary ER visits. My Neighbourhood creates a sense of community throughout the entire website. By focusing on the discussion board, we wanted to illustrate how a strong community can influence empowerment and growth of knowledge. The discussion board is used as a resource for parents who are looking for a trusted place to turn and want to come together with other parents to learn how to take control of their child's healthcare. By creating an engaging user experience where parents can form friendships, be helped, and help others, we hope that users will return to our site on a continual basis anytime they need advice, and not simply rush to the emergency room when something goes wrong.
