eBook Design: Flakey, The life & works of Glenn Lewis

video

description

This project was designed in forth year eBook Design class with our co-curator, Presentation House Gallery, which they wanted to develop an e-book publication on the subject of Vancouver artist Glenn Lewis' art practice of the late 1960s and early 1970s.

The goal was to design an eBook for a tablet device (iPad) and to create a place for artist's fans, artists, scholars, and others to browse Glenn's canon of work in the comfort of their armchair.

The content were provided by Presentation House Gallery staff skilled in scholarly research, image preparation and editing, with input from the artist. It also included commissioned critical essays that interpret different aspects of Lewis's practice from the period, a video interview with the artist, a text by the artist, comprehensive biography and bibliography, photographic documentation, and ephemeral documents (e.g. pages from sketchbooks, ceramic glaze recipes, performance instructions, period texts).
