Ahoy, Financial Literacy!

This project is focused on financial education for British Columbia’s lower mainland youth in transition from high school to either post-secondary or the workforce. This topic offered the opportunity to develop a tool to tackle financial literacy for youth and help them develop a solid base of financial knowledge to build upon in the future. 

Looking at metaphores I found the sea or more specifically a nautical theme fit really well with the financial concepts I was trying to illustrate. I wanted to associate the information in the ebook with something that was fun and reflected the Vancouver area.

The challenge of this project was taking dry content and transforming it into an engaging enjoyable experience that people would seek to use. The result was an ebook that offered a way to learn about financial topics through the use of a metaphor.  This project attempted to fill the educational void of financial literacy for lower mainland youth.
