Oboz: Sustainable Shoe Project

The ProteCage is a concept that uses slip-on technology and tensegrity of rubber to protect the leather interior of the shoe.  Also, once the rubber is worn, the exterior can be properly discarded or recycled as virgin material.  This idea is a small part of a sustainable design initiative in collaboration with Darryl Agawin, Chiara Salini and Alysha Paiaro (for Oboz a sustainable shoe company).  Where our objective is to research, conceptualize, design and introduce a series of products or systems that promote sustainable behavior.  Few important examples include slow design, tacit up-cycling and reducing carbon footprint.
