Garnish N' Spice

Spice N’ Garnish is a 3 size planter system that uses the natural qualities of ceramics to imbed a self-watering water compartment. The system encourages the user to grow foliage plants at home, while the modular form can support both large and small growing goals. A supplementary website
provides growing guides and suggests how your fresh foliage can be integrated into your home cooked meals.

The internal wall and the walls along the water compartment are left unglazed (porris). Water slowly moves through the porris inner wall into the dirt compartment, which reduces watering maintenance by keeping the dirt moist.

Water also seeps into the walls along the water compartment, darkening their colour and indicating the water level to the user.

The planter engages the user by encouraging them to create their own dynamic arrangement in a chosen space.

Right angles provide optimum space efficiency and allows planters to be tucked into corners. As plants grow, the user can spread the planters to give more space to larger plants or unblock smaller plants from the light.
