Ronel Segment Table

description

This project was an experiment with the presence of furniture in a room, and how it has the possibility of modularity while retaining its function. We thought that as a group we had the same goals in common, we all wanted it to be modular, some wanted it to be ground-breaking, I just knew I wanted it to be timeless. The final product lived up to all our standards, the modularity is obvious and stimulating, while not foregoing functionality. And to satisfy my drive it has a hand made, minimalist, deco look that I really get a kick out of, and from my perspective if you slammed this piece of furniture down in any design savvy persons house in the past 200 years it would fit right in, and it should continue to do so.

The wood is heat treated pine with birch veneer sandwiched between the boards.
