This theme self portrait was created based upon specific feelings and thoughts which shape the personality of the artist. Often feeling misplaced, judged and defensive, the artist' attempt to evoke these emotions are brought out in a fantasy adventure scene tinged with dark undertones of battle and bloodshed. Not only is Jacqueline(the artist and human figure)'s face hidden behind a mask, but she is gripping a sword, in a gesture that proposes provocation and courage. As if daring the viewer to betray her with a disapproving glance.
