ANIM 206: Sound for Animation

Students explore the creative and aesthetic possibilities of sound design for animation filmmaking and related applications such as games, and mixed realities. Through hands-on activities with recording, designing, editing and mixing sound, students learn the fundamentals of sound production for animation and create short sound design projects. Course topics examine and undertake core principles of communication and expression through sound, and how it is perceived and manipulated to create meaningful audio-visual relationships in the medium of animated film, while also considering historical developments and contemporary applications.
