CEIL 240: Illustration for Picture Books

This creative and practical course explores illustration for picture books. While being introduced to key classic and contemporary works in this art form, you will be shown how to create an effective illustration and main character, as well as how to develop your own unique style. Topics include: storyboarding and composition exercises, as well as experimenting with ink, pen, brush-work and collage. You will also learn to digitize your illustrations using Photoshop, and how to share them with publishers.

Any 100-level drawing course or equivalent.
