GSML 603: Media + Visual Grad Seminar

This course provides the major forum in the second intensive residency period for discussion and critique of ongoing work in the studio, particularly as students prepare for the interim exhibition. Students introduce their studio production online at the beginning of the course as means to identify the contextual territory of the cohort's collective interests; a range of reference materials that exemplify similar or opposing approaches to cultural production then provides a foundation for analysis of student practice to occur during the face-to-face residency period. Finally a critique of the work in the interim exhibition provides a forum for reflection on future research directions and practical strategies.
