ILUS 300: Illustration: Advanced

This course develops greater depth and emphasis on personal research in specific areas of illustration with self-directed projects from the core of this class. In consultation with faculty, students determine the parameters and goals of their own individual projects through well-researched proposals that clearly articulate the cultural context, methodology, and intent of the work. Broad experimentation is encouraged in the conceptualization of projects, after which a commitment to skillful execution is expected. The evaluation of work takes the form of both individual meetings and periodic group critiques.
