ILUS 302: Editorial Illustration

Rare is the designer today who does not need skills in illustration to explore and convey ideas. This course will investigate how the intersection of illustration and design can enable designers to communicate more powerfully, using typography, image, colour, shape and composition. Illustrative drawing skills are fundamental to the development of logos, spot illustrations, environmental graphics, and designs for motion. Students will learn to design illustrations that are well-integrated components of their print or time-based projects.
