ILUS 308: Dialogues with Illustration

This third year course for Illustration Majors offers the opportunity for students to develop their studio work within the context of contemporary and historical illustration practices. The focus will be on supporting students in the development of their own illustration practices. Students will acquire a critical vocabulary for understanding their own work through group critiques, discussions, and individual presentations of research on a variety of subjects related to their work. They will learn skills related to completing projects, making presentations, speaking in public, leading discussions, and integrating academic research and knowledge gained from Critical Studies with their creative practice. Weekly meetings will allow for group discussions of self-designed studio projects, assigned readings, and research projects.

Priority is given to ILUS students in Year 3. Students outside of the registration priority group may register/waitlist for this course as of the registration rule release date.
