INDD 304: Design + Make

This course focuses on the complete development cycle of a small wood based product in partnership with a local retailer. Students will work on a hands-on project that explores the creation of an accessory item from concept to ready-for-retail item of a specific price point. Areas of study include market research, design, small scale manufacturing, packaging and branding within a people centred design approach. Wood is a principal material in the course but students are encouraged to incorporate other mediums in their products. The range of material, packaging, and branding outcomes make this suitable for students in all areas of design from both 3rd and 4th year.
