NMSA 400: NMSA Senior Studio

Offered to New Media + Sound Arts majors, this course provides students with the opportunity to propose and develop a self-directed body of work. Sections are taught by a single faculty member or offered in a team-taught model. The emphasis is on students developing a body of work that is intellectually and artistically sophisticated as well as undertaking research to support their emerging practice. Students will participate in presentations, critiques, discussions of readings and ongoing, self-directed projects as well as preparing their own bodies of work for exhibition and/or applied presentation. Students meet regularly for group seminars as well as in one-to-one tutorials with their instructor(s). Critiques and discussions complement student production where considerable independent time and maturity is expected.
