PRNT 226: Textile, Surface + Pattern
This course will introduce students to hands-on methods of surface design and textile printing, focusing on repeated pattern. Projects will encompass various pattern-design techniques and will use methods such as block printing and screen-printing to make yardage, textile works, and sculptural forms. The class will be taught through workshop demos and projects. Class critiques and tutorial discussion will encourage the student's artistic development. Emphasis will be on the critical examination of the students' work, technical development the exploration of contemporary ideas.
