PRNT 321: Photo Process Print Media

This course focuses on the integration of photographic imagery with traditional print media processes. Through workshops, demonstrations, and projects, students will be introduced to the fundamental methods of working with photographic imagery in print form. The course will explore a range of techniques for making negatives and positives for exposure, combining the hand-drawn mark with photographic images and printing plates in both black and white and colour. Readings, research, tutorials, and critiques will provide a forum to critically examine the role of photographic print media in contemporary visual culture. Familiarity with the Adobe CS suite is helpful.
