AHIS 200: Art + Culture 1900 - 1950
AHIS 200 provides an overview of Art and culture between the years 1900 and 1960. Students will be introduced to Avant-Garde and Modernist artistic responses to shifts in the social and political climate of specific contexts. Artistic movements focused on include: Expressionism, Fauvism, Cubism, Suprematism, Constructivism, Productivism, Art Concrete, DeStilj, Dada, Surrealism, Social Realism, Abstract Expressionism, Art Informel, CoBrA, Beat and Neo-Dada.
