MiCollab Soft Phone for Mac User Guide
Some ECU staff and faculty with Mac computers use the MiCollab softphone system.
Setting up your MiCollab system
To find your Network Preferences, open Network from the Apply menu (top left), and open the Network icon.
To add the softphone icon to your dock, hold the control key and click on the MiCollab icon, then select "keep in dock" from the Option menu.
You should have received an email with an authentication
key from the email address "noreply@mitel.easydeploy.net".
If you did not receive this please contact the IT Helpdesk.
Copy this authentication key and paste it into the MiCollab window.
Once you’ve clicked "Apply: in the MiCollab window, you should select OK to access your contacts.
Your softphone is now ready to use!
Using your softphone
To reach ECU staff you can dial by name, or local. Softphones do not require 9 to connect to outside lines.
You can use your computer's built-in microphone and speaker or get a headset from Reception.
You can also chat with ECU staff by selecting the chat icon.
Dial your voicemail at 4568.
To access voicemail from off-campus or from a cell phone,
dial 604.630.4568, then open the dial pad and enter *. Then, enter your local and immediately press * again (ie:*4444*).
Enter the assigned temporary password 1111. Then follow the instructions to configure a new password and record your
greetings.
