How to Apply

Below are the requirements and steps to apply for a Master of Design and Master of Fine Arts. You may only submit an application for one program per intake. All steps must be completed in order for your application to be reviewed.

We offer one yearly intake into all graduate programs. Both Master of Design and Master of Fine Arts degrees begin in Fall.

September 19 | Applications Open

NOTE: Document upload will not be available on EPBC until September 27. If you apply through EPBC prior to this date, you must send your transcript(s) and documents to masters@ecuad.ca.

  • SlideRoom opens to accept online portfolio and supporting documents.

January 19 | Applications Close

The deadline to apply and submit your portfolio and supporting documents online.

April 30 | Admissions Decisions Sent

Emily Carr University admission decisions are shared with all graduate applicants via email.

Variable – two weeks after receiving a Letter of Admission | Deadline to Pay Your Deposit

The deadline to pay your deposit and secure your place in the program is within two weeks after receiving your letter of admission via email. Further details are included in said email.

August 1 | Additional or In-Progress Documents

All relevant final educational documents are due, as requested directly through the admissions process by the University.
