URBAN GEOGRAPHY

description

This work is largely an exploration of the effect of ‘environmental setting’ on a person’s behaviour and the relationship between experience and memory thereof. From an introspective point of view the primary environmental setting I am exploring is urban landscapes.I wanted to provide an opportunity to engage the viewer in a process of consciously selecting their own ‘memory’ from the larger image or setting that they wish to take with them. Like selecting a postcard when you go to Paris. As the piece itself is constructed out of individual sections or blocks I am attempting to reference further the urban landscape. However, I am also interested in documenting how the image itself shifts a changes as more people interact with it, therefore exploring it as a kind of micro behaviour setting.
