The Three Stool

The Three Stool is a counter height stool that was designed as a collaboration with 18 KARAT to address the issue of material use in furniture. The aim of this project was to use the least amount of materials while maintaining maximum strength. The stool weighs 5.8 lbs and is made primarily of Western Maple. The Three Stool was designed to occupy the space between the kitchen and living room in small, urban dwellings. With this in mind, we wanted the stool to be approachable from all sides and angles, allowing the user to identify their own way of interacting with it. The stool consists of three parts which repeat in a radially symmetrical pattern and it was designed to be flat packed for shipping and assembled in a local warehouse.
