The Fort Building Kit

The Fort Building Kit project was rooted in an effort to make learning environments more interactive and engaging for children with learning differences. We worked with 3 co-designers aged 10-12 from Kenneth Gordon Maplewood School, who informed our design process and the problem space within which we were working. The goal of this project was to create an engaging and active learning tool which fostered collaboration. Not only were we designing for collaboration but we also wanted the students to be able to create their own customizable spaces (or so-called 'forts') for social and alone time during the school day.
