CUXD 105 SU01: Ui Design Principles
Using interactive prototyping tools, this course mobilizes knowledge of design, user experience and research to develop UI concepts from a creative brief. Students will learn to develop and refine user flows, understand and document a user journey, and identify 'good' design based on a user persona. Through in-class assignments, discussions and independent study, this course focuses on understanding and integrating interaction design concepts, and applying user testing strategies to reflect on the journey through a product, service or experience.

Carley Hodgkinson is an Emily Carr alum, class of 02. In the last 10 years, she's worked at Adbusters (a brief but formative stint!), at Kaldor (same!), inhouse at Vancouver Film School, and as a freelancer for five of the last six years, working primarily with local non-profit and artist-run art galleries. She just completed her Master of Design degree at NSCAD in Halifax, and is delighted to take over as Senior Communication Designer. In her dream of dreams, Carley wants to learn all about microelectronics and get deeper into interaction design, urban planning, and the intersection of communication design with the city. She continues to teach in Continuing Studies and Design Essentials and absolutely loves to marry teaching with an ongoing practice.
