DHIS 202: Design History I

This course focuses on the material and popular culture of the western world from the Renaissance to the First World War. Students will examine the emerging histories of industrial and communication design and their relationships to social, philosophical, political, and technological issues.

Prerequisites: 

AHIS 102 Introduction to Visual Culture I and AHIS 103 Introduction to Visual Culture II
